2016 Atlantic City Beer and Music FestivalAtlantic City Convention Center – Atlantic City, NJ – 4.9.2016Photos by: Carolina RiveraThis past weekend the 11th annual Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival was in full effect and we were there to document all the fun and games. The festival was split into 3 sessions. Session 1 started Friday April 8th and Dashboard Confessional was there to get the event started. Session 2 and 3 started Saturday April 9th, and the fans were eager to get in before it was noon. The festival started with the first Annual Hops Trot at 10 am. A 5k Run that sent racers to some of Atlantic City favorite watering holes with the finish line right inside the Convention Center. Upon the finish line the racers were greeted with… you guessed it – more beer. That will definitely keep anyone motivated enough. Attendees tried over 1,000 different beers from 150 breweries. In addition to beer there was an endless selection of local restaurants and bars serving great food and festival vendors offering tasty treats. Musical acts were local bands Superheaven and The Superweaks who got the crowd frenzied and ready for the final act of the session 2, Manchester Orchestra. They played a lengthy set with crowd favorites “Shake It Out” and “I’ve Got Friends”. Additional vendors offered unique beer related apparel, and artwork. Session 3 Musical acts included Solace, Backyard SuperHeroes and finally Reel Big Fish offered a ska punk treat. Some of the activities people enjoyed ranged from wing eating contests, costume contest and toilet bowl races. Of course just because the festival was over doesn’t mean the party was, too. Attendees were encouraged to hop on over to the Official after party with Reggie and The Full Effect at Ballys Casino Resort at The Mountain Bar. It definitely was a night to remember… or not, depending on how many 2oz beers you had.
