On October 7th, Alessia Cara, Ruth B, and Nathan Sykes all took the stage at the legendary Chicago Theatre to play for an incredibly enthused crowd. The show was one of the first on Alessia Cara’s Know It All tour Pt. II, and was a great step up for Cara’s live performance.

The night was kicked off with a brief four-song set from Nathan Sykes, who was formerly a member of the pop boy band, The Wanted. Sykes played some songs from his upcoming, debut solo album release Unfinished Business, which is set to drop on Nov. 4th via Def Jam Recordings. He played a laid back set accompanied by only an acoustic guitar (and a piano on a few songs), and soothed the crowd with his soulful voice. He concluded his short set by playing his newest single “Over and Over Again” which got the crowd singing at the top of their lungs.

Next up was rising soulful popstar Ruth B, who first got her start singing on Vine and then released her first EP, The Intro, in 2015. Throughout her set, Ruth B played a couple of new, unreleased songs titled “In My Dreams” and “If This Is Love” in addition to songs from her EP. For most of the set, she remained center stage, stationed behind her keyboard, but the crowd didn’t seem to mind one bit. She had many fans singing all of the words to her songs, including the unreleased ones, right back at her. Ruth B closed out her lovely set with her singles “Lost Boy” and “Superficial Love”.

Last but not least, Alessia Cara took the stage and absolutely blew the crowd away with her unique vocals and upbeat pop tunes. She kicked off her 14 song set with “I’m Yours”, “Four Pink Walls”, and her single “Wild Things”. Halfway through her set, Cara brought out Sebastian Kole to sing an emotional rendition of “Stone”. The two wrote the song together, and also sang the duet in celebration of Kole’s debut album being released that same day. That emotional performance was followed by a Frank Ocean cover and a cover of “Wild” by Troye Sivan, which she was featured on earlier this year. Despite her battling a cold, Cara powered through her performance and still managed to sound fantastic. She ran around the stage and was continuously engaged with all of her fans, which made them go crazy. Cara then closed her set with two encores, the first one with her two biggest singles “Scars To Your Beautiful” and “Here”, where she featured a new verse to switch things up for the fans. Then she came out for the second encore to close out the night with “My Song”.

All in all, the night was filled with great performances and energy from both the artists and the crowd. For more information about the Know It All Tour pt. II, you can check out Alessia Cara’s website for dates and ticket information.
