Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness rolled into Detroit on Sunday to play the 89x & 93.9 The River Spring Fling at the Fillmore Detroit to a room full fans from all steps in McMahon’s career.

There were fans with Something Corporate shirts, Jack’s Mannequin shirts and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness shirts throughout the building; showing how McMahon has cultivated and kept fans throughout different stages in his career.

McMahon started his set with six straight “In the Wilderness” songs, starting with hit single “Fire Escape” from brand new record Zombies on Broadway. He also played songs “Walking in My Sleep” and “High Dive” from his self-titled album.

The crowd went crazy when McMahon slipped into Jack’s Mannequin hit “Dark Blue” before playing more solo and “In the Wilderness” tracks.

Two Jack’s Mannequin songs, an Empire of the Sun and Something Corporate’s “I Woke Up in a Car” ended the set.

The encore consisted of “Birthday Song” from the new record, “La La Lie” from Jack’s Mannequin’s Everything in Transit and “Cecilia and the Satellite” from the self-titled, played while McMahon rode on the crowd in an inflatable duck.

Providing direct support was Atlas Genius and Night Riots.
