Artifex Pereo premiere new song “As History Would Have It”

New Noise Magazine has premiered a new song from Artifex Pereo this morning. “As History Would Have It” will appear on the forthcoming full-length album Passengers. The long awaited sophomore album from the band will drop via Tooth And Nail Records on 9/9/16.

Following 2014’s debut album Time In Place which left the listener hovering in space, the new album is written through the eyes of someone viewing the planet from afar. As Jamie Davis (guitar/vocals) of the band says “we approached the new album from the perspective of someone returning to earth and viewing the maddening things happening throughout the world.”

In regards to “Soft Weapons” Lucas Worley (lead vocals) said “the song was intended to be written from the perspective of soldiers who have been sent to war. Soldiers whom once enveloped by the brutality around them begin to contemplate the justifications, politics and agendas that put them there in the first place. We did our best to illustrate those potential thoughts that arise when one takes part in an atrocity that has been relentlessly repeated throughout history by a world that expends human life at an alarming rate. There are lots of troubling topics addressed on Passengers and it seems as though every single one can contribute to or be affected by the black hole that is war.”
