Daye Jack takes you behind the scenes of tour life in new “Raw” video

Daye Jack drops off a fresh video for his latest serving “Raw.”  Daye explains to Complex that the song “is about believing in yourself so much that you become a villain.  There’ll be people around you who you think you’re crazy because you’re trying to make some outlandish dream come true, but they’re wack for that.  That kid being picked on for thinking different and chasing his ideas is who I want to sing along to this song cause that shits as Raw as it gets.”

Since springing his Hello World mixtape into the blogosphere from his NYU dorm room, the 20-year old whiz kid has crafted a series of rich recordings including the lush Soul Glitch EP to several stand-alone songs (“Finish Line,” “Rule the World,” “Piggybank”).  Taking a leave of absence, Daye has since toured with New Orleans’ Pell and Danish pop-soul band Lukas Graham, performed at Lollapalooza and Moogfest, collaborated with Killer Mike (“Hands Up”) and Cardinox (“Doors” remix), and has even written songs and appeared on recent albums for Tori Kelly (“Expensive”) and Ariana Grande (“Sometimes”).   Daye was recently featured alongside NASA’s Scott Bolton, Corrine Bailey Rae and Quiñ in a short film by Apple Music that shows the link between exploring space and making music.

Fans can expect more of Daye’s eclectic palette on his full-length debut album which arrives this fall and features production from Mike Elizondo, Nosaj, Max Martin, and others.   In the meantime, they can check him out with Witt Lowry on Watsky‘s “Infinity” tour this fall.
