DNCE House of Blues – San Diego, CA – 01.17.17 Review and Photos by: Erika García Starting off with with the unexpected presence of a pair of storm troopers waving a flag with the letters of the band, the party-like show DNCE gave was the best way to start the tour this new year. From side to side and front to back the crowd sang every single lyric alongside the band’s frontman and singer Joe Jonas and cheered on for their opening song “Naked”. The band formed by Jonas, Cole Whittle (bass and keyboards), JinJoo (guitar) and Jack Lawless (drums), since the release of their song “Cake by the Ocean” in 2015, have gained numerous nominations and awards as well of being on the top of Billboard charts worldwide. “This is probably the hottest crowd I’ve ever seen” said the singer throughout the night. The band made sure everyone was having a great time with their upbeat songs and covers such as David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance”, George Michael’s “Freedom as well an acoustic set mid concert with their song “Almost” and the Chainsmokers’s “Closer”.
