Indie-Pop Artist SOMME Drops Video For New Single “Ordinary Fools”; Announces Debut EP
LA’s up-and-coming indie-pop phenomenon SOMME has dropped a music video for her new single “Ordinary Fools” via Buzzbands.la, as well as announced the release date for her highly-anticipated debut EP. The self-titled EP SOMME, featuring “Ordinary Fools” and previously released LGBTQ love song “Long Time,” will be released on May 4th. You can watch the video for the new song below.
“I started this song on a train when I was looking back on a relationship that I had wished for a while would come to fruition but never did,” shares Jordan Cantor, the magic behind SOMME, on the new single. “When I hear the intro synth sounds I remember being on that train in upstate New York in Mid October when all the leaves were changing. The video concept originally started as a separate entity from the song, but now I feel the same watching the video as I first did on that train.”
The upcoming EP is expected to be a new favorite to the music world. SOMME–who draws her inspiration from the likes of Robyn, Fleetwood Mac, and Lorde–stirs noteworthy pop hooks and moody electronics together, all the while expressing her vulnerability to listeners. Lyrics on the record hold an overarching theme about a short but meaningful relationship, though she touches upon her other experiences on tracks like “Tell Me,” which is her most personal song about a friend’s battle with addiction.
