Issues and Motionless in White kicked off 2017 by joining Falling in Reverse for The End is Here tour. Also on the bill are Dead Girls Academy and Dangerkids. I caught a night of the tour at the House of Blues in Boston, MA.
Issues opened their set with fan-favorite “Blue Wall” off of their latest album, Headspace. Tyler Carter and Michael Bohn nailed their vocals and gave great performances. The band seemed really into the show and put forward a lot of energy. As if the crowd wasn’t already having a great time, Issues brought out a dancing parrot to pump up the crowd even more. Some other favorites played were “Mad at Myself”, “Flojo”, and to close out the night, “Hooligans.” Overall, Issues put on an awesome show and the playlist was well chosen.
Next up was Motionless in White whose performance was just as entertaining. The first thing that caught my eye was their stage setup, complete with melting candles and glowing jack-o-lanterns. The band began with “570” to get the crowd going, followed by “America.” To add to the excitement, a clown yielding a water-gun, knife, and candy joined them onstage, as well as a guest wearing a pumpkin head and cloak. One of the coolest parts of their performance was their cover of “Chop Suey” by System of a Down. Their set was creepy and theatrical in the best way, and really complimented their solid musical performance.
Between these two sets alone, the drive to the show was well worth it for me and I can’t wait to see these two bands live in the future. This tour showcases very unique bands who bring in very different fan bases, but all who attend seem to enjoy each performance. There aren’t too many dates left of this run, but if there’s one in your area I would recommend checking it out!
