With one of the most stacked lineups this Spring, The Killthrax tour has been drawing in crowds across the country. The Connecticut date was no exception to preceding dates, as fans poured into The Dome at The Oakdale eager for the show to come.

The room was nearly packed by the time The Devil Wears Prada took the stage. The lights dimmed and the band stepped onto the stage to the first notes of “Daughter.” Right off the bat, Prada had the crowd catapulting their fists into the air and banging their heads. Their set followed with “Sailor’s Prayer” off of their album 8:18 and “Planet A” of of their Space EP. The setlist was a balanced mix of some of the group’s most hard-hitting songs, including hits off of their latest release Transit Blues, Dead Throne, and as far back as With Roots Above and Branches Below. Their set encompassed their energetic hardcore style and wild live show. Although they might not have been headlining this run, attendees of all ages seemed to thoroughly enjoy their performance.

Energy was radiating throughout the room when the time had come for Anthrax to play. With beers in hand and smiles on their faces, the crowd was stoked and in good spirits. Anthrax took the stage, diving straight into “Among the Living” and “Caught in a Mosh,” off of their 1987 release Among the Living. In support of their newest album, For All Kings, the group played select songs including “Breathing Lightning” and “Evil Twin.” Despite the extensive amount of time they have been around, the thrash metal leaders continue to hold their place as one of the most influential music groups of the metal scene.

The Killthrax tour boasts a lineup unlike any other this Spring. With The Devil Wears Prada, who have made their own name for themselves in the hardcore scene, and co-headlining metal class acts Killswitch Engage and Anthrax, these shows are worth a visit. Also on the bill are noteworthy acts Jasta and Code Orange, playing select dates. The tour is still in full swing, so be sure to catch one of the dates!
