Minus the Bear took the stage at House of Blues in Chicago Thursday night as they are out on a US tour in support of their brand new album Voids. A good majority of the set was focused on new material of which the crowd surprisingly new most of the words! Minus the Bear’s light show is definitely not one to sleep on as it perfectly matches and embodies their sound in a pleasantly visual manner. A few classics such as “Pachuca Sunrise” and “Knights” were played as well. The crowd was dancing from start to finish and didn’t let up once!
There’s only a few dates left on tour with support from Beach Slang and Bayonne so if they are playing in a city near you be sure to catch their set!
04/10/17 Phoenix, AZ The Crescent
04/12/17 Los Angeles, CA The Belasco
04/13/17 San Francisco, CA Great American
04/14/17 Portland, OR Wonder Ballroom 04/15/17 Seattle, WA The Showbox
Beach Slang are a punk rock outfit hailing from Philadelphia. Their stage energy and fun-filled banter in between songs are the epitome of what it means to be in a band that does it for the music. Their love for what they do shines through their way of communicating with the crowd as well as how they perform. In addition to the funny conversations in between songs, the band also would play little jams here and there such as “My Own Worst Enemy” by Lit and “Smooth” by Santana. The band closed out with a full cover of “Where Is My Mind?” by the Pixies followed by their hard-hitting single “Atom Bomb”. If you have the opportunity to EVER see this band, let alone on this tour, please check them out! You will not be disappointed!
