This past Wednesday New York got a special treat, Pierce the Veil brought out I The Mighty and Movements on their upcoming tour for their latest record “Misadventures”. Eager fans awaited to enter once doors opened and the line wrapped around an entire block. Security was a bit more rigorous then usual because of recent gun violence, but everyone understood. The show started about half an hour late because of it. First up was Movements, a Southern California 4 piece. The crowd loved their engaging lyrics and melodic instruments, they were the perfect start to the night. Also from California, I The mighty took the stage next with post hardcore style and a little bit of indie elements in there too. They started their set with “Lady of Death” from their latest release “Connector”. The bands fantastic energy and stage presence fueled the crowd. They also played a few songs from “Satori” the bands first full length album. They ended the night by satisfying fans with an encore and performing crowd favorite “The Dreamer” and before everyone knew it, it was over all too quickly. Finally, headliners Pierce The Veil took the stage shortly after, opening their set with “Dive In”, the first song on their latest release “Misadventures” as they were set to play the entire album in its entirety. The crowd went off per usual singing back every single word. They always open up with so much energy it’s hard not to match their high energy. A few mosh-pits later, Vic Fuentes (lead vocalist) began to sing “Today I saw the whole world” acoustically and was later joined by the full band. They finished off the album and surprised the fans with encores with 2 crowd favorites “Bulls in the Bronx” and “King For a Day” from their previous album. The night ended with tons of confetti and smoke and very happy and satisfied fans.
