Slamdunk Festival (South) – The Forum, Hatfield – 29.5.17

While the U.S. gears up for Warped Tour this summer, all of us across the pond had the chance to attend the UK’s very own Slamdunk festival–3 days in 3 different locations covering North, South and midlands! The festival is known for its amazing and unforgettable lineups of pop punk and heavy rock bands. This year’s line up included bands in the likes of Enter Shikari, celebrating 10 years as a band; Neck Deep, who are thriving in punk rock; and even Bowling for Soup who made us want to relive our high school days!
Having a solid group of headliners at the same time made it difficult to choose whose set to attend. Despite the high demand for all headliners, Slamdunk provided nothing short of amazing music for all to enjoy. With over 50 major acts performing at this year’s festival, the atmosphere was overwhelming for all the bands and festival goers, which made for an unbelievable day of rocking out!
Overall, my personal top 5 categories and winners from Slamdunk are all listed below:
- Top 3 Upcoming – WSTR/ Grumble Bee/ The Gospel Youth
- Best Frontman – The Maine
- Top 3 Circle/Mosh Pits – Ice Nine Kills / Crossfaith / Enter Shikari
- Best Crowd Response – The Maine
- Underdog – Crossfaith
