The WANT House Party Tour – Dallas, TX – 11.15.18
“We don’t know how to DJ, but we know how to throw a fucking party!” yelled TJ Petracca before playing emo anthem “Sugar, We’re Goin Down“. TJ is a part of the Los Angeles based event Emo Nite, that celebrates 90’s and 00’s emo rock music. Started merely three years ago, the group has become widely popular for their weekly parties across the nation. This night was an extension of Emo Nite, a full-blown tour with rapper Lil Aaron and legendary electronic duo 3Oh!3. Lil Aaron is a unique act that wows listeners with a trademark blend of rap, emo, pop punk, and metal. These influences come out in songs like “STUDDED GUCCI BELT”, in which he raps over the beat to Metro Station’s “Shake It” or “QUIT“, which features pop-punk god Travis Barker on drums.
After Lil Aaron left the stage, the Emo Nite crew kept the party going with early 00’s anthems like “All The Small Things” and “Mr. Brightside“. Then suddenly, out of a sea of Juul smoke, 3Oh!3 appeared. Girls ran onto the stage to take selfies as the duo started playing. Animatronic wolves flashed lasers from their eyes as they started playing songs off “WANT“. The night peaked when 3Oh!3 dropped “DONTTRUSTME“. Everyone in the venue danced and sang along as the night came to a close.
